April is an American who moved to Dubai in 2008 with her husband and three children. She has more than 12 years’ experience advocating for people on the spectrum, which is inspired by her son who has autism. April started Autism Support Dubai a support group for families with loved ones on the spectrum. April also shares her family’s triumphs and struggles as well as tips for parents through blogging and writing for publications. Her role as Family Outreach Coordinator allows her to follow her passion of spreading Autism Awareness and supporting families throughout the community. She established a program called Peer Power which pair neurotypical students with people of determination to do various activities together. In her role, she also organizes group outings/playdates for families. April is on a mission to educate Dubai about Autism through organizing Autism Awareness presentations for schools, corporate organizations, healthcare facilities, hospitality industry and more.
